About Where You At (WYA)
Where You At (WYA) started with a simple, urgent problem: people getting lost from their friends in crowded venues, sometimes with serious consequences. It is the modern resilience layer for the entire live economy.
Our mission
At capacity crowd density, the networks people rely on collapse. Cellular saturates. Wi-Fi was never designed for it. The moment people most need to find each other is the moment the technology stops working. Where You At (WYA) exists to close that gap.
Our vision
Resilient live events. Every venue. Every season. Every show. Permanent in venues that need it. Deployable in fields that don't have it. Anonymous by default. Answerable to operators, safety teams and sponsors.
The founder story

Tamzin started Where You At (WYA) while studying at Oxford. After experiencing first-hand the prevalence of harassment and assault in busy nighttime venues, she decided to build a tool to help people stay connected without signal, and feel more empowered in busy crowds.
She surveyed more than 1,100 students about their experiences of nightlife and events. The results were unambiguous: losing your friends in a crowd is pervasive, and in the wrong context, the consequences are serious.
"The deepest constraint wasn't the app. It was the network underneath it."
The first version of Where You At (WYA) was an app, designed around a single idea: people should be able to stay connected, stay together, even when cellular has given up.
The product evolved from there. The team realised the deepest constraint wasn't the app. It was the network underneath it. Festivals, arenas, conferences, marathons: all of them lose cellular under capacity load. The answer was a third network, purpose-built for crowds rather than for phones. That network is FlexNet, a Bluetooth mesh that operates independently of cellular and Wi-Fi.

Today, FlexNet has tracked more than half a million attendees live, across Festival Republic at Gunnersbury Park, the Big Half at Greenwich, the Vitality 10K at Green Park, Drumsheds, and a growing list of permanent venue installs. Tamzin was recognised on Forbes 30 Under 30 for the work.
The mission hasn't changed. The scope has. Where You At (WYA) is still about keeping people connected when the networks fail. It's just that now we do it for 56,000 marathon runners, 20,000 festival fans, an arena at half-time, and a conference floor at lunchtime, as well as for two friends trying to find each other in a packed club.
The arc so far
2021
Tamzin started Where You At (WYA) at Oxford after experiencing first-hand how prevalent harassment and assault are in busy nighttime venues. A survey of 1,100+ students confirmed it. Losing your friends in a crowd is pervasive, and in critical environments, dangerous.
2022–23
The first product was an app to help people stay connected without signal. But the answer to crowded, congested venues wasn't a better app. It was a better network. Where You At (WYA) built a Bluetooth mesh that could see and serve a crowd even when cellular and Wi-Fi gave up.
2024–25
FlexNet, the third network, was deployed at Festival Republic at Gunnersbury Park, the Big Half at Greenwich, the Vitality 10K at Green Park, and Drumsheds. Tracking over half a million attendees live. Recognised on Forbes 30 Under 30.
Today
Where You At (WYA) FlexNet is no longer just an app. It's the operational layer underneath festivals, marathons, arenas and conferences. Anonymous by default, sponsor-grade by output, and answerable to the people who carry the ops radio.
